Meet Lady:
Lady was picked up as a stray after eluding capture for 4 days. She finally surrendered to the staff at Windsor Animal Clinic who had been placing food out on the steps to attract her. Lady is a senior dog (approx 8-10 yrs) lab/pit mix and would probably do best in a quiet home. She has a very sweet and gentle disposition with lots of affection to give her new owners. She enjoys naps on her blanket and peanut butter and is in urgent need of a retirement home with lots of love.

More about Lady

Friends of Windsor Animal Care & Control

Hello everyone, welcome to our blog. The friends of the Windsor dog pound are now “Friends of Windsor Animal Care & Control”. Members of the town council didn’t want to use the term “shelter” but we wanted to be more than a typical municipality pound. We are going to use this blog for up-dates and progress reports about the pound, adoption information, scheduled events pertaining to Windsor and more. Please feel free to pass along information that you would like shared.

Introduction

Hello everyone, the friends of the Windsor dog pound is a group of volunteers that believe that Windsor’s dog pound, animal control officer and patrol officers need to stay in Windsor. With the development of Mechanic Street including the construction of the Amtrak commuter rail landing platform, the current location of the pound will be closed.  We are working together with the town manager as well as the town council to find a new location in Windsor, raise money for construction of a new pound and educate community members about animal care.
